Qualifications

The John and Brenda Pullen United States Military Scholarship was created to provide students who are working toward a degree in logistics/supply chain management or banking/finance. You must be a current or honorably discharged military member, or be the child or spouse of an active or honorably discharged military member, to be eligible for this award.

To be eligible for this military scholarship, students typically need to meet the following qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a related field of study at an accredited college or university.
  • Strong academic performance, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • A written application, including a personal statement as well as letters of recommendation from instructors, mentors or professionals.

Recipients of the military scholarship will receive financial assistance to cover expenses related to their education. The scholarship includes mentorship opportunities and access to resources.

Background

This scholarship honors the lives and legacy of John and Brenda Pullen who have been married for over 56 years. They are proud parents of two children who have blessed them with four grandchildren. The Pullen’s believe in the values of hard work, honesty, and family.

John is a proud military veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was honored with several awards for his service, and his military background has imbued him with a strong work ethic, discipline, and a reputation for excellence.

Brenda has a background in business administration and has a wealth of experience in the banking industry, having held various positions over several decades.

The Pullen’s dedicated over 30 years to their careers, serving as officers with both Norfolk Southern Railroad and Bank of America. Now retired, they are devoted to supporting their grandchildren and contributing to charitable organizations that help families in need through food and support.
